Sintered Stone of different thicknesses is also exquisite in usage!
Sintered Stone is becoming more and more recognized and loved, and is gradually sought after by everyone. The common thicknesses of Sintered Stone are 3mm, 4.5mm, 5.5mm, 6mm, 9mm, 12mm, 15mm, 18mm, 20mm, etc. The thinner the Sintered Stone, the better? Different application spaces and scenarios have applicable thicknesses. How to choose the thickness of Sintered Stone?

Thick:3mm

Advantage
The quality is relatively light, bringing a certain degree of light transmittance, sterility and pollution prevention. It is suitable for secondary decoration and wall application. It does not need to damage the floor and wall of the room, and does not bring construction waste. It can be directly constructed.

Shortcoming
The thickness is too thin, it is very easy to produce bending deformation, and the overall force is not very strong. The 3mm Sintered Stone is too thin, which requires too much of the wall base. Coupled with the brittle characteristics of Sintered Stone, once a large deviation occurs, it is possible to cause the Sintered Stone to crack.

Such applications need to be compounded and reinforced with aluminum honeycombs, aluminum, wood panels, glass, fiber back nets and other materials to achieve certain crack resistance and meet the needs of home space.

Scope of application

Sintered Stone with a thickness of 3mm is currently mainly used in decorative panels, such as cabinet door panels, wardrobe door panels, door panels, refrigerator and other household appliance cabinet door panels, etc.

Such applications need to be compounded and reinforced with aluminum honeycombs, aluminum, wood panels, glass, fiber back nets and other materials to achieve certain crack resistance and meet the needs of home space.

Thick:6mm

Advantage
The combination of folding resistance and lightness is cost-effective. In addition to wall paving, it can also be processed twice for dining tables, coffee tables, desks, porch cabinets, TV cabinets, cabinet panels, side cabinets, bathroom cabinets, bay windows, wardrobes, etc., and can be used in combination with glass, wood, stainless steel and other materials.

Shortcoming
Compared with the 3mm thickness Sintered Stone, although its flexural resistance has increased, it is still easier to deform under heavy pressure. Therefore, it is still not recommended for use in parts that require force or load bearing.

Scope of application

Sintered Stone with a thickness of 6mm can currently be used for wet sticking and dry hanging on indoor and outdoor walls and floors, various door panels, and composite panel countertops, but this thickness composite panel countertop cannot be used as a special-shaped edge, it can be used as an undercounter basin and must be used for hanging.

Mainly used in floor paving and high-end home customization, it is currently commonly used in cabinet panels, wardrobe panels, door panels, refrigerator panels, TV cabinet panels, etc.

In addition to the ground can also be on the wall, applied to the background wall, parapet and other applications, not only the visual effect is extremely shocking and stimulating, but also greatly reduces the load-bearing load of the wall.

Thick:9mm&12mm

Advantage
The thickness is moderate, and it can be used on the wall and on the ground. Especially in the background panels produced by many ceramic tile manufacturers, this thickness is the most. Generally, ceramic tile stores say that this thickness is the thickness that can reach the top. This thickness does not have 3 and 6 for the technical requirements of paving. High, suitable for wet sticking and dry hanging, etc.

Shortcoming
The folding resistance and bearing weight are better, and the deformation is relatively small, which is more suitable for the application of the whole house rock slab furniture panel. It has the characteristics of easy cutting and processing, and can meet the application of various household furniture.

Scope of application

Compared with 3mm and 6mm, its lightness is slightly worse, and its weight is heavier, which is no longer suitable for the surface layer of the door panel.

In addition to being used in various [countertops], it is also very suitable for home customization such as stairs, bay windows, window sills, etc., bringing a more beautiful overall home effect and a higher quality life experience.

Thick:
15mm

Advantage
Sintered Stone with a thickness of 15mm and above has the highest hardness, strength, weight and bending resistance. It is solid and has no fear of daily cutting and scratching. It can directly process, cut and cook food on its surface. It is an ideal material for kitchen, bathroom, island and other home countertops.

With stronger machinability, it can withstand deep processing such as grooving, chamfering and shape edging, making Sintered Stone more suitable for home customization needs.

Shortcoming
The thickness is large and its weight is heavy, so it is not suitable for the surface layer of the door panel.

Scope of application
The exclusive thickness of the kitchen counter panel, without hanging, one piece is done.

Sintered Stone  come in size specifications. For the same quality and brand, the bigger the size, the more expensive it is. Similarly, the thicker it is, the more expensive. Therefore, it is crucial to confirm the size of the slabs before starting work, and try to avoid wasting slabs as much as possible. Layout a diagram for dividing the slabs proportionally. This way, the cutting will not affect the visual effect of the backsplash wall.
